The following are the results of the various events in the Field Roots petition in connection with the* recent A. arid P. Show at Meth'ven:— .

Ten acres white'fleshed turnips (s)— T. Doherty 70.77 points, f 1; W. ,J! Chambers 65,99 points, 2 '; YJas. Carr 59.21 points, 3. Yellow fleshed turnips (3) —James Carr 63.66 points,!; T. Dolierty 55.34 points, 2; A. Wilson 52.96 points 3. Five acres swedes (5) —Low 91.59 points, 1; T. Dohefty 64.99 points, 2; Watson 64.72 points,^. One-quarter acre (4) — J. Carr 72.55 points, 1; T'.Doherty 64.45 points, 2; Paul 63.37 points, 3.

T. S. Harrison's Cup ; for most points in classes 1, 2 and-3 was won by T. Dolierty with a total of 191.10 points. The same competitor secured Messrs Sutton and Sons' special prize in connection with class 1.

In the judging, carried out by Mr A. Macpherson, Government Fields Supervisor, a maximum of 30 points were given for soundness and quality, 50 for weight, 10 for freedom from weeds, and 10 for evenness of crop.
