Persons residing at Gambais, cJase Ito Landru's villa, declare that ajx three dates corresponding .with thedisappearance of three of his fiancees,, they saw thick smoke ascending from' the villa chimney. A French doctor identified Landz-u as. a man whom he saw bearing a large bundle on his shoulder in the moonlight, which bundle Landru threw into a lake.
The police are hoav searching the lake.
