GENERAL SYKES' ESCAPE.

LONDON, May 5. Major-General Sykes, Controller of internal and civil aviation, who was summoned urgently to Paris In connection with the peace deliberations, was proceeding thither by. aeroplane. The machine crashed to the ground at Henley owing to side-slipping while ascending. The pilot was lulled, but MajorGeneral Sykes, who was badly shaken, returned to London*. '; •-".
