. DTJNEDIN, April 30. ,At B\irnside to-day 225 fat cattle were penned. The quality was fair, and prices much the same as those ruling last week. Extra prime bullocks made £21 to £22 2s 6d, prime "£lB 10s to £20. medium £15 10s to £17 10s, light and unfinished £13 10s and upwards, prime heifers £13 10s to £15, medium £11 10s to £T3 10s, light and aged £7 10s and upwards.

Sheep—4463 were penned. The quality: was better than usual', but owing to the large entry prime heavy declined 2s to 2s 6d per head. Medium and light realised late values, but inferior sorts sold in some cases at very low rates. A few extra prime heavy wethers made 61s 3d, heavy 48s to 52s 3d. prime 40s to 465, medmm 33s to 375.6 d, light and unfinishecT 23s and umvnrds, ■'.prime ew6s 36s to 38s 9d, medium'3os to 355, light' and aged 16s and upwards.

'Ln-mbs —1404 were penned. The auality on the whole was 'medium, but there were a few pens of prime, for *hich competition was good. Owing to the lack of shipping, competition for medium was. not keen. Prices ranged from 16s to 28s. '
