ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET
CHRISTCHURCH, April 23. At Addington market to-day there were small- yardings of stock on account of the holidays, and there was a limited attendance. There was little or .no change in the prices of fat stock, and exporters took all the' lambs and sheep that butchers did not require, and so kept the market steady. There was a poor demand for, store sheep, especially. : for inferior sorts. Chatham Islands were well represented in both the fat and store sheep sections, and fat wethers from-i there brought good prices. The store cattle pens were almost empty. Pigs met with a moderate demand.
Store Sheep.—2-tooth' ewes 21s 3d to 21s 6d; 4 and 6-tooth 16s 6d to 22s 7d; 2-tooth wethers 17s Id to 21s lOd, 2 and 4-tooth 22s 3d to 25s 7d; 4 and 6-tooth wethers 22s 9d to 2os 6d, 5 and 8-tooth 24s 8d; medium mixed sex lambs lis to 15s sd, smaller 5s 9d to 10s 6u • wether lambs lis 6d to 13s Bd.
Fat Sheep.—Extra prime wethers to 54s 6d, prime 33s to 395, lighter 25s'6d to 32s 6d, unfinished 21s to ■245; extra prime ewes 425, prime 30s to 32s Bd, medium 25s to 29s 6d, lighter 17s 3d to 24s 6d.
Fat lambs, extra prime ,to 31s, prime 26s to 295, medium 23s to 26s 6d, lighter 18s to 22s 6d.
Fat Cattle—Prime steers £14 2s 6d to £20 15s 6d, prime heifers £11 15s to £15 6s, prime cows £9 7s 6d to £13 17s 6d, f ordinary £6 ,15s to £8 10s; dairy cows £7 to .£1,6 6s.
Pigs.—Chopper and baebners equal to OJd lb, porkers equal to 10"jd to 10"id lb; best stores £2 TOs to £2 17«, medium £2 2s to £2 ss, smaller 16,s to 21s, weaners 9s 6d to 14s.
