At a lengthy stop-work meeting of 1600 watersiders it was, decided to submit the employers' proposals to a secret ballot this week. Similar ballots will be held, simultaneously at all the ports
AUCKLAND, April 23
A special stop-work meeting of watersiders was held this morning to consider the union delegate's report concerning the recent conference with employers regarding the! revision of rates of wages and working conditions. It is understood that the employers have offered an increase of twopence per hour. Arrangements were made for the holding of a secret ballot to determine whether the employers' offer should be accepted. DUNEDIN, April 24. A stop-work meeting of Dunedin watersiders decided to take a secret ballot regarding the employers' offer, as the result of the Wellington conference.
