COLDSTRfcAM ROAD' BOARD.

A meeting of the Coklstream Road Board was neid on Thursday last, those present being Messrs \V. H. Stevens (.Chairman;, VV. Jewell, \\. -aeiveiige,' v. sihaw, and H. "Willis.

The Minister of Internal Affairs wrote dealing with the question of "Peace Celebrations," ana containing full instructions r<e subsidy and local control of funds.—The matter was dealt with fully by the Board, and it was resolved, as Lowcliffe, Ealing, and Hinds intend to celebrate locally, to make a grant.to each, plus Government subsidy. For this purpose the sum of £30 was set aside, and the same amount to meet subsidy.—The clerk was instructed to writ© to , the committees pointing out that according to the conditions set forth by the Minister of Internal Affairs, every claim for a subsidy must be supported •by a detailed statement of expenditure.

Accounts for £70 were passed for payment.- *
