A deputation from the Congregational Union of New Zealand and its missionary organisation, together with representatives of the Methodist Missionary Society, waited on Sir James Allen to-day and submitted a resolution passed by the Council of the Congregational Ucion protesting against :.the alleged official negligence at Samoa in connection with the introduction of the influenza epidemic into the group, and urging that . precautionary measures should be taken to prevent the possibility of such neglect in future?;' The Minister expressed to the deputation his deep regret at the heavy mortality in the group, and stated that a Commission was being appointed to inquire' into'the matter. The deputation might rest assured that every effort would be taken to prevent the recurrence of siich an epidemic at Samoa. _
