A . PARADE of Returned Soldiers __L and Members of the New Zealand Military Forces will be held on ANZAC DAY', 25th APRIL, 1919. The following units and details will parade at the Drill Shed, Ashburton, at 1.45 p.m.., on the 25th APRIL, 1919, for the purpose of attending a" Combined Church Parade to be held in the Ashburton Domain. STAFF— A Lieutenant-Colonel* E. B. Mill ton, Officer Commanding the Parade. Lieut. M. P. W. Blathwayt, Adjutant. Staff Sergt.-Major G. Willers, Parade Sergt.-Major, ,1 Staff-Sergeant W. J. „Anderson, Sergt.-Major Bth (S.C.) .Mounted Rifles. PRECEDENCE OF CORPS— 1. Returned Soldiers and Es-Con-tingenters. (All soldiers who have seen service overseas in any war). 2. Officers of Reserve and Retired j List. - 3. Veterans. 4. Bth (South Canterbury) Mounted Rifles (Mounted). 5. Canterbury Mounted Signal Corps (Mounted). 6. "C" Company 2nd (S.C.) Infantry. Regiment. 7. No. 14 Company Senior Cadets. 8. No. 35 Company Senior Cadets. 9. No. 36 Company Senior ' Cadets. 10. National Reserve and South Canterbury Honorary Territorials. 11. Boy Scouts. 12. Bth (S.C.) Mounted Rifles BAND 13. Ashburton County Pipe Band. 14. Ashburton Fire. Brigade. , 15. Red Workers and Civil Organisations. OFFICERS— - "Dress—Drill Order: Caps, putties, swords. ' Men who do not possess Uniform may report to Sergt.-Major Anderson at 10 a.m., at the Drill Shed, on the day of the Parade, when they will he equipped. Unib Commanders will detail "Markers" to report to the Parado Sergt.Major at 1.40 p.m. On the "Fall In" Jieing sounded, Company. Cpmmanders. who, having already inspected and 'proved tlieir "commands, will march their Units on to their respective Markers, and will form up as a Battalion in Mass Formation, ready for inspection by the Officer Commanding the (Parade. ' Mounted Units will 'form up in Close Squadron. Column to the flank. \ Unit Commanders will hand their Parade States to the Parade Sergt.- j Mai°r. Returned Soldiers belonging to Mounted Units may parade Mounted. The following will be the order of parade .when in column of route :— 1. Bth (South Canterbury) Mounted Rifles." " ■■;■'■ - "-- ■ 2. Mounted Signal Troop. 3. Bth (South Canterbury)' Mounted Rifles Band, followed by 1, 2, 3, ,6, .13, '7,. 8, 9, 10, 11, 12,: 14, 15,16, as per A.O. above. The Parade will proceed to the Domain via Tancred, East, Havelock, and West Streets. ' It is' anticipated that all ranks will conform to all movements smartly and quietly, and maintain throughout the parade that soldierly;. bearing and efficiency which are at all times expected of good soldiers. After the Service the Parade will be marched back to the Drill Shed, and will there be dismissed. Territorials and Senior. , Cadets MUST APPLY . FOR LEAVE otherwise further action in the matter will ! be taken. It is assumed that the time has now ! arrived when officers and", men of the Territorial Forces have,-the,, opportunity to, prove that they recognise,the sacrifices made by their'comrades who have proceeded oversea^y-' and have made the victorious conclusion of the war possible. The sacrifices also made by. those whoso sons who will never return must also be recognised and fully appreciated; therefore all ranks should consider it riot only a duty, but also a privilege, to attend -this Parade* ' r?; '-' All Civil Organisations, also, such as Red Cross Workers, etc., are cordially invited to attend; and it is hoped that _ the public generally will actively co-operate with the soldiers in suitably commemorating this Anzac Day.
