There was a, fair attendance of householders at the annual meeting on Monday evening. Mr J. M. Hampton was voted to the chair. The report showed that the school had had a successful year, which reflected great credit on the part of the teachers. The balance-sheet showed a substantial credit balance. On the motion of the chairman, a voto of thanks was accorded ■to the | teaching staff. Votes of thanks to tlio chairman, secretary, and outgoing committee were also carried. The headmaster introduced the question of providing hot drinks for the children at lunch time. The meeting was unanimous in favour of the idea, j and the. teacher was empowered to ! make the necessary arrangements and j to uut the scheme in operation after term holidays. The following were elected a committee:—Messrs Hampton (chairman), j Watson (secretary), Elms, McKenzie, | and Paterson.
