PRECAUTIONS DURING EASTER.
CHRISTCHURCH, April 16. When seen by a reporter yesterday, Dr. Chesson, District Health Officer, stated that the health of the community, from reports received by his Department, was normal', and there was nothing to notify concerning influenza. In view of the racing week,' commencing on Saturday, it would be well for alt citizens to exercise ordinary precautions, but. the conditions are now quite different from wliat they were in the days preceding the November Carnival Week. He did not anticipate any danger from the assembling of crowds next week, but in the public interest he would like to ask people to take reasonable precautions. The Health Department's weekly report up to noon on Monday showed that 11 cases of influenza were reported in the North Canterbury' Hospital Board district, all being of mild -type.Details were:—Christchureh City,^ 3 cases ; Linwood, 2 ; Avonside, 1; • New Brighton, 1; Lyttelton, 1; coasal boats 3.
