LONJ)ON, April 12. Sir Joseph Maclay, replying to Sir J. Ward's representations for the transfer of River Plate steamers to New Zealand, says that the Ministry of Shipping, the Board of Trade, and the Ministry for Food discussed the matter fully, and decided it' was impracticable at the present time,, owing to the meat situation in Britain and Europe.
