WATERTON.

On Wednesday evening last a most eniovable social and dance was held in the Public Hall to welcome, home Serircant Brand and Private Dewar. Mr J. P. Blee presided. . .Musical items were contributed by the Misses Jaine (pianoforte solo) and Mr Oppenheim (Violin solo). During the evening the chairman, on behalf of the district, presented each soldier with a handsome cold medal, suitably inscribed. Sergeant .Brand responded for 'himself and comrade. Dancing was kept up witli much sm'rifc till the early hours of the morning, music being' supplied by Mr mid Miss Gluyas. Mr R. J. Gluyas acted as M.C
