ASHBURTON GOLF GLUBT
T3)e annual meeting of the Ashburton Golf Club was held last evening, Mr D. Wood presiding, the majority of the members being present.
The Chairman reported last year the operations of the club were curtailed owing to the war, but the club was in the fortunate position of being able to show a credit balance of £22 0s 7d. There was every prospect during the coming season of golf receiving a considerable impetus, and it was hoped to make an early start. The following officers were elected:— President, Mr il>. Wood ; vice-presi-dents. Dr. Hunter and Mr B. Newton; captain, Mr H. A. Boddington; secretary and treasurer, Mr A. H. Mag-son; committee, Messrs V. P. Boot, D. P. Garrick, and R. For-syth; handicappers, Messrs G. H. Buchanan, R. Forsyth, and A. H. Magson. Six new members were elected.
The matter of opening the season was left in the hands of the committee.
