CLEARING SALES.

Mr H. A. Lloyd held a successful clearing; sale at Tinwald yesterday on account of Mr T. J. Meaclem, whose dairy farm has been purchased - by Mr E. Frew, of Ashburton. There was a good attendance, and throughout the sale late rates were well maintained. The following: were the principal sales:

Cattle—Two yearling heifers at £3 2s 6d. 3 do. at £2 17s 6d, 2 steers at £1 15s. 3 calves at 32s 6d.

Horses—Mare (7yrs) £25, gelding (aged) £18, do. (aged) £11, mare (aged) £15,.yearling gelding £8, light harness horse £5 15s.

The clearing sale conducted by the New Zealand Farmers' Co-op, at Chertsey yesterday on account of Mr H. E. Blunden was largely attended, farmers and buyers from all parts of the country being present. An outstanding feature of the sale, was the horses, which were an exceptionally good lot, and for which there was keen competition. The property was previously purchased by Mr J. Halliday, of Cherts'ev. The following were the principal sales: —
