The Ashburton branch of the Repatriation Committee met on Monday evening, when four applications for assistance were received and favourably recommended. Mr T. M. Charters, the officer in charge of the Canterbury Repatriation District, visited Ashburton yesterday afternoon and conferred with the secretary (Mr W. Woods) in regard to the routine to be followed in connection with applications.
