Sir Auckland Geddes, Minister of Reconstruction, has resigned.
Mr Colin Mac Donald, editor of the Pahiatua " Herald," has succeeded Mr E. Darley as the company's managing director, and will in future combine both offices. Mr Mac Donald was formerly on the literary, staff of this iournal.

At its monthly meeting yesterday, the Canterbury Education Board appointed Mr Leonard F. Pegler as vicenrincipal of the Normal Training College. Mr Pegler has for the past 12 years been headmaster of the Hastings District High School, with, 17 years' previous experience.
Mr W. R. Morris, secretary of the Post and Telegraph Department, arrived in Ashburton yesterday. He T>aid a visit this morning to several of the outlying districts with regard to representations that were made recently to the Hon. W. D. tt. Mac Donald for increased mail services. Mr Morris returned to Christchurch by' the express this afternoon.
The Canterbury Education Board, at its monthly meeting yesterday, approved of the following appointments in the Ashburton County:—Anama, Miss H. Walker; Ashburton, Miss D. I. Hume; Highbank, Miss F. M. Bryant; Lagmhor, Miss K. L. Tasker; Mount Somers, Mr J. J. McGuigan. The following resignation was accepted: Ashburton. Miss E. E. White. Miss M. E. Gunn, Lauriston, was granted leave for one month.
