At the Pendarves Hall on Friday night, a social evening was held for the double purpose of welcoming home some soldiers returned from service, and of saying farewell to Mr and Mrs H. E. Blundcn, who have sold, •their farm and will be leaving the district. ' Unfortunately not all of the soldiers expected were able to be present. Mr j J. Outhbert, on behalf of the residents, presented, eadh man with a gold medal, . suitably inscribed. . ■ I Mr J. Watson presented Mr and Mrs Blunden with a handsome rug and a set of china. . i During the evening songs were sung by Mrs Reid, Miss Halliday, and Messrs W. Rankin and H. Gill 1, j Messrs W. Rankin and E. Rankin sup-! plied the dance music and Mr H. Thompson acted as M.C. |
