HINDS.

A general meeting of Hinds Red Cross branch was held in the hall on Wednesday afternoon, when there was a good attendance. Mrs D. Shaw occupied the chair. The secretary reported that since its inauguration the branch had made 1602 garments, 111 socks, etc., 164. bandages, and 18 towels; total, 1895. The treasurer reported that the total receipts were £905 9s lQ4d, of which the principal items were: Concerts and fete £564 2s 10id, members' subscriptions £98 9s Bd, donations £43 8s Id. It was decided, to hold a " wind-up" social in June. ! After the usual votes of thanks the meeting, adjourned. On Friday the pupils of Hinds School and their parents and friends spent a very enjoyable day in the Tinwald Domain. During the afternoon Mr J.M. Hampton, chairman, after a short address, presented the prizes gained during the year, a number of good attendancp certificates, and four Navy League certificates to B. Prampton, 'W. McKenzie. N.
