BATTLE OF SAN IN RUSSIANS' FAVOUR.
(Received June 1, 2.5 p.m.) PETRGGRAD, May 31. A communique states: — On the front between the Pilitsa and the Tipper Vistula, we captured 209 officers and 8617 men between May 12 and 24. The battle oi: the San is developing in our favour. , We crossed the Lubaczowka and occupied a. village and monastery, inflicting heavy losses. On the front Zaderewucz-Bolechow-Jaworow we repulsed several attacks and then a-SBumed the offensive, taking 70UO prisoners and 30 quick-firers. The enemy thei) began a disorderly retreat.
