At this morning's meeting of the High bchool Board it was decided, on the motion of Mr "W. B. Denshire, to send a letter of condolence to Miss ltosovear (a .member of the teacliing staff of tho school) on; the loss of "her brother at the Dardanelles, and also to the parents ol: old boys who had been killed at the front. The motion was passed in silence. . the members standing. '
Prior to hisdeparture for Trentham on Saturday night; Bandsman K. Henderson, of tin; Citzens' Defence. Corps Band was made the recipient of a gold wristlet watch by the other ■members of the bund. Bandmaster Dennis, who nuule the presentation, spoke oi' Bandsman Henderson's good work in connection with the band, and wished him good hick and a safe return.
