A general meeting of the Methven A. and P. Association was held on Monday evening. •-■Present; Messrs! A. Murray (president), McDonald, C. A. Cuff, H.-Green, W. Morgan, T. Doherty, D.'McKendry!; S. Smith, W. Buchan,'junior, J. T.: Mangin, Holland- Stewart, H. T. Smith, A. Comyns/Gundry, and Harris. An apology for absence was received from Mr . T. Dowling. Letters were received from the following accepting positions as judges: — Messrs Davidson, Halliday, Reid, Parry, Buckley,. Stephen, Blackleyv Langley, Campbell, and Mclntosh, and Miss McDowell. Mr W. P. Begg wrote accepting the position of honorary veterinary surgeon. The following judges were appointed for the other vacant sections: —Miscellaneous section, Miss McDowell; poultry section, Mr T. Breeze.,. The offer of a. fat wether by Mr A. McLennan, and of a fat lamb by Mr J. Hepburn, for the weight-guessing competition was accepted with thanks. The following special prizes were received: —Mr G. Cormack, senior, £2 2s; Messrs Dixon Bros., £2 2s; Messrs F. C. May and Co., £1 Is; Messrs Graham, Wilson, and Sinellie, £1 Is; Mr F. H. Steel, £1 Is; Messrs J. Ballantyne and Co., £1 Is. This brings the amount of* special prizes offered up to over £140. Permission was granted by the Chairman of the Domain Board for a close day for the Show. The .Competition Sub-coromittee reported having,elected stewards for the various competitions, and, after a good deal of other routine business had been transacted, the meeting terminated with, a vote of thanks to the chair.
