THE ST. LOUIS TRAGEDY.

NEW YORK, March 10. There were some dramatic escapes from the St. Louis fire. Twelve men tied sheets together and descended from the fifth floor to an adjoining roof. A man leaped across a 10 feet chasm separating two buildings and escaped with bruises. Most of the escapees were in their' night clothes only. The manager of the Athletic Club refused to leave until ho had given the alarm to everyone. Several firemen were injured by falling walls.
