At the last and cleaning-up wool sale of the season held to-day, 183G bales were offered. . The greater portion of the wool was of moderate and poor quality. Competition was keen, and January prices were well maintained, in some cases a slight advance being recorded. An exceptionally good clearance of all lines was effected. -'The following shows the range of prices:— Fine half bred merino, lOd to lOfd; fine crossbred, 10r_d to lid; medium crossbred, 9-_d to lO^d; coarse crossbred, 91-d to 9|d; inferior, 8d to. 9d; nieces, 6d to 7d ; crutchingSj 6_d to 7_d; locks, 4d to sd; lambs, superior, lOd to Hid; seedy, 6_d to Bd.
