Dr. Mawsori, speaking at a welcome/ said the expedition had brought backij several tons Yf rock and mineral specimens, 300 or 400 bird-skins, and a number of mammals and seals. He had observed indications of: a large area of coal. At present" he could not estimate the commercial .value of /tho new lands, but/they may have much value, and it was only right that Australia should have/it, as! Australian arid British expeditions had accomplished pi-actically all the work done, there.
