In the House of Commons, .Sir .Edward Grey said that all ; efforts Bad failed to secure an investigation , into the facts of Benton's death. The persistent difficulties offered gave rise to the presumption that it was the desire of the responsible persons. concerned to 1 conceal the truth. The United States had shown every desire to. secure - the piotection of Britishers.
