The annual harvest festival' conducted by the Ashburton Corps of the Salvation Army was -brought to a conclusion last- night, and the \ officers report that a most enjoyable time has been spent during the function, and a considerable amount in cash has been gathered in. There was a fine display of produce, and sales were rapid and good prices paid. Each night the band played special 'items, and Mrs E. G. Craighead, Mrs Ensign Hosking, Lieutenant Matthews (Rakaia), and Messrs P. MeG. Murray and E. G. Craighead contributed vocal items. The money realised will go to assist the local corps and to help purchase new: instruments for the band, Mr H. A. Lloyd acted as" auctioneer' gratis. •
