At the Magistrate's Court to-day George Sutherland appeared on remand on a charge of theft of moneys the pronerty of the Taihape Borough Council, between February 6, 1913, and January 30. 1914. The total amount of, the alleged defalcations is £382 19s lOd. The accused reserved his defence and- was committed for trial at the Supremo Court at Palmerston.North on May 12. Bail was allowed in personal surety or £300 and two others of £150 each.
