MR CHURCHILL'S ASSURANCE

LONDON, February 26
Replying to questions as to the strength of the. Gibraltar battle squadron, Mr Churchill admitted that two expected battleships were not being built. Nevertheless, they were developing a definite fleet organisation, and fully keeping pace with the other Powers.
Mr Churchill also announced that 12 White Star steamers had been provided with guns at the company's expense. ■
