METHVEN PROPERTY SALE.
.At the conclusion of the stock sale . nt Methven on Thursday; Messrs Fried- :■ lander Bros., Ltd (in conjunction with the Now Zealand Farmers' Co-opera- , fcive Association Ltd.), offered for sale ■ by public auction a number of properties and also 56 fully paid-up £1 shares ■ in the Methven Saleyards Company, ' Ltd. The first lot offered was a freehold farm containing 336 acres 3 roods 201 ■ porches, situated about five miles from i the Moti'ven township. The property ■ is subdivided into handy sized paddocks, ' and has a frontage on the Mount Hutt Road. The land is all in grass. Bidding was moderately brisk, but the farm was passed in at £16 10s. The shares, which'were offered in lots of eight were sold as follows:—T. Man■gin at £2, J. Stewart at 38s, H. Kennedy at 345, T. Doherty at 345. A. McKay at 355, I). McDonald at 3os, and Joseph McGirr at 36s 6d. A township section fronting on the West Coast Road and McMillan Street, being lots 13 and 22 on D.P. 428, containing 2 roods, was sold to Mr W. J. Nee for £]30. A second township section, situated at the corner of Barker's Road and Mackie Street, being lots 9, 10 and 11 on D.P. 331, containing 3 roods, wa-s disposed of to Sir C. Nordquist at £205.
The Now Zealand Farmers' Co-opera-tive Associatison, Ltd., on behalf of ilr W. Aitken, also offered sections Nos. 67.; "06, .81 and 82, all containing oneacre, adjoining the Methven School. No sales were made.
