Mr A. Henderson, M.P., and other Labour leaders, from a launch, welcomed the deported men. V
Bain thanked them, and said that, acting on legal advice, they had refused to leave the ship.
The captain 1 refused' to allow the Labourites aboard, so they sang "The Red Flag," the deported' men joining in the chorus. >
Later, Henderson and Boardman were permitted" to board the Umgeni, and induced Bain and the rest to land. ...;...■■.-.>".
