THE TROUBLE SPREADING
(Received February 20, 9.50 a.m.) SYDNEY, February 20. The ironworkers' strike is spreading. The employees at Clyde, Meadowbank, and Auburn establishments are out, making a total of 1200. This number will be largely increased to-day, and unless there is an early settlement it is feared that 10,000 men in the iron trades will directly or indirectly be affected.
The Labour Council called a mass meeting to-day to consider, the situation. It' is unlikely that the Government railway and other public works will be involved.
