A DARING THEFT.
AUCKLAND,, February 18. A daring theft is repprted from Tirau. Two days ago a member of a private company whose works are in the vicinity of the town, with a bag in his possession containing about £50 in gold and: a number of called at one of the business premises' in the township. While there he had occasion to go outside for, a few minutes, asking a friend to Weep an eye on the bag. The friend had his attention distracted for a few minutes and on returning to his trust, found the bag gone.
