MEAT DEPOTS OPENED.
ifiAGER, BUYERS RESTRAINED BY THE POLICE. (Per Press Association —Copyright.) SYDNEY, February 18. The master butchers opened two city depots and one at Rochdale to supply meat. A force- of police was detailed to keep back the crowds eager to obtain supplies. The unionists refused to cart tJie meat to the depots, but the masters managed to get transport. The'intervention of the Labour Council is regarded hopefully by responsible j nien in Labour circles. <■ The Hon. J. Estell spent' the .whole of the morningl interviewing both sides to -the dispute, but the result of his labours are withheld.
