LONGBEACH ROAD BOARD.

The monthly meeting of the Longbeach Road Board was held on Saturday. Present*:—Messrs J. Grigg (chairman), W. TV Lill, W. J- Taylor, and W. J. Stoddart. , ' A letter was received from Mr A. Moore, drawing attention to the state of the road running through the Educational reserve by his property .—lt was resolved that the Surveyor be instructed to inspect and report. The Ashburton County Council wrote agreeing to provide concrete pipes for use across two'fords on the-Willowby Road.—Received. The following alterations to the rate roll were agreed to: —From J. R. Steel (to Mrs R. Mclvor, Lots 31 and 32 and 41, Winslow; from William Moses to ;J. H. Papworth and G. Wayne, Lot 1, reserve 737; from William Moses to R. Mugford, Lots 1, 4 to 7, 22, and 24 to 28, Waterton. The Ranger's report was read, considered satisfactory, arid % adopted. Accounts amounting to £33 6s were passed for payment. The Board then sat as a / ■ ' -. I CEMETERY BOARD. Mr W. H. Muir was appointed caretaker of the Waterton Cemetery. The surveyor reported that arrangemnts had been made to have thegorse grubbed, the cemetery cleared of rubbish,, and the trees topped at the Winslow Cemetery. ■ Accounts amounting „to £2 were passed for payment.
