CHRISTCHURCH, Febniary 13. At the Supreme Court criminal sessions Charles Edward Carson, for carnal knowledge, was sentenced to six months' imprisonment. . 1 In the case against Herbert Jarvis, of alleged sheep-stealing, the hearing was adjourned. Thomas Geary, on a charge of alleged carnal knowledge, was acquitted. The prisoners Owen, Campbell, McCormick, Smith, Francis, Wood, Hill and Leigh, who pleaded guilty earlier in the week to extensive frauds on the Customs Department, will be brought up for sentence on Monday morning.
