INVERCARGILL, February 11. , The cricket match Canterbury .v. Southland was resumed to-day in fine weather and on a fair-wicket. Canterbury's first innings totalled 173 (Whitta 27,-Patrick 35, Beale 23, Wilson 28, Boulton 17). Doig took three wickets for 61 runs, Groves three for 40, Kavanagh 0110 for 36, Bannerman two for 26. Southland's second innings realised 97 (D. Hamilton 22. Kavanagh 28, McNeice 10, ' Driscoll not out' 11). Boulton took one wicket for 12 runs, Wilson five for 54, Bennett three for 16, and Watson none for 8. , Requiring 25 to win, Canterbury sent in Patrick and Beale, mid they secured the number without loss, Canterbury thus winning by 10 wickets (Patricknot out 14, Beale not out 9).
