The Fire Brigades' demonstration ( concluded yesterday. Two, New Zea- j land records were broken. In the ladder race the'record' time of 7'2-ssec was reduced to 7sec. In/the two men rescue evfent the record of 22seo ' was reduced to 21 4-ssec. Grey Lynn won) the Auckland .Shield. . : ' The winners' of the principal prize money were: ; Dannevirke, JE36;ijPunedin South, £35; Thames, v £ls; Petohe, Railway, £.12; Waihi, £1.0. The results were as follow:—.". . ' Hose, Reel and ladder Eve^it, for five men—Dannevirke (penalty one second), total time lmin. 7sec, £15; Dunedin South, lmin. 9 l-ssec, £10; Grey Lynn, lmin 11 3-ssec, £5;. Devonport, £2 10s.
