THE PALATINE CASE
(Per Press Association—Copyright.)
LONDON, February 5. Captain Browne (who sued Mr J B Joel for £2000 commission for allegedly arranging the sale of the racehorse Prince Palatine) adduced evidence that Prince Palatine was offered to Lord St. Davids and Lord Rosebery. His owner told Browne he wanted £50,000 for the horse. Browne telegraphed to Mr J. B. Joel, who replied' " You must think I'm a damned fool." He denied authorising Browne to conduct negotiations.
