The preliminary debate on the question ;" That compulsory military training should be abolished," was wpn by Auckland, who took the negative, with 204 points to Wellington's 191. . Maitland (Auckland), .77 points ; 2; L. Heath (Auckland), 68 points, 3. Tenor solo —S. L. Exto'n (Auckland), 88 points, 1; H. Blakely (Auckland), 86 points, 2. Pianoforte solo —W. Jennings, (Wellington), 79 points, 1; C. Taton (Auckland), 73 points, 2. Vocal duet —S. L. Exton and L. Heath (Auckland), 79 points, 1; G. Gray and A. J.
