CHRISTCHURCH DAY BY DAY.

Detectives Fancy and Carney arrested a man in Lyttelton yesterday on a charge of stealing a number of billiard balls, from a saloon in Christchurch.

The Education Board yesterday decided to assist in the movement promoted by the Boys' Gordon Hall to encourage boys leaving school to take up technical work.

On October 31 there were-50 patients —23 men, 26 women, and 1 child—in the Consumption Sanatorium. During that month, there were 210 attendances at the dispensary in the city, 45 persons called to obtain information, and the. nurse in attendance paid 84 visits to patients in their own homes.
