RESOLUTION PASSED

At the meeting of the Ashburton County Council this afternoon, the Chairman said he thought it was right to pass a vote of thanks to the ratepayers and others who had done their level best to keep the port of Lyttelton open and to solve the present industrial strife in the- Dominion. They had all done their ftest, thus enabling the farmers' produce to be. shipped. He moved that the Council record its best thanks to all those who had come forward voluntarily and offered their services to 'enable Port Lyttelton to bo. opened for export and import. , : Cr Harrison seconded the motion,, which was carried unanimously.
