HURRIED BACK TO WORK

The drivor& "in the employ of the City Council, who wont out on strike yesterday, returned to work to-day. Every nian went bade, including the few agitators among ihe men and union officials. _ Yesterday afternoon, before ;the first day of the strike was over, they signed on again, and resumed .work as usual this morning.'
"Anew Drivers' Union for Christchurch was formed ,this morning, starting with 50 mei|bers of, the old union; Applications from \ others are being ■received. It is to be registered as '" The Christchurch Horse and Commercial Motor Drivers' Industrial Union of Workers,", and the necessary papers for its registration go to Wellington by to-night's mail. It is anticipated that the carrying work of the city will be resumed by the new union almost immediately.
