Official figm-esshow that the retail prices of 12 out of the 15 principal articles, of food in America have increased by 66 per cent, during the past 14 years. The increases have been partly due to natural causes and partly to artificial stimulation. . In order to meet •the latter, the Housewives' Association is advocating the establishment of public markets and co-operative stores. , The,cost of living in America is onethird higher, than in Gi-eat Britain.
