NEW BRIGHTON TROTTING CLUB
A High-C!ass Match Arranged
Arrangements were concluded on Saturday _ whereby Mr R. McDonnell's ■ Australasian record-holder Emmeline, 2min. Bsec, by Rothschild from Imperialism, and Mr James Conway's Ameri-can-bred mare Lovelocks; 2min. 5-} sec. by Zolock—Carrie 8.,. will meet in a match at the approaching Summer Meeting of the New Brighton Club. The Club has offered a purse of £75 for the .contest, which will be over a mile with a flying start. Mr Conway's mare put up hei: round on one of the fastest and most scientifically laid-out •tracks in the United' States, and therefore she may not do the fcame time here. In any event, the match between these two flying mares'will be one of the many big attractions the marine I club will offer its patrons. The race I between Lovelocks and Emmeline will ( take place on the first day of the meet- ,'■ ing, and probably both will compete in the two-mile free-for-all New Brighton Cnp on the second day.—'' The . -Press."
