ARNST'S CHALLENGE

SYDNEY, November 7. diaries Towns is willing to accept Arnst's offer to allow any sculler in Australia ten seconds start on the Parramatta course. Arnst announces that he is willing to race Towns in 12 ,weeks for £200 a side, or all the best scullers in Australia can join in a sweepstake of £100 apiece, Arnst allowing all ten seconds at the finish. He is not desirous to interfere with ■Pearce's trip to England, but is willing to row him for from £200 up to £500, allowing him ten seconds at "tho finish. Towns wants the allowance at the start.
