Cox, of Ghristchurch), that Miss Ada Gates has been appointed under cho Infant Life Protection Act as x the "local representative" of the Department in Ashburton. Some fifteen months ago, Miss Gates voluntarily undertook the duties which now officially devolve upon her and, during the interval,' she has 'dovoted much time and attention, in a purely honorary capacity, to the, Avork of district .. visitation, ably seconding the offorts of the District Agent in that particular branch of the Department's activities. Her official appointment comos, therefore, as a pleasing recognition of past faithful and valuable service.

The bride qualified as a girl scout before the wedding came off.
