BURNSIDE STOCK MARKET.
DUNEDIN, September 29. Sheep.—267l were yarded. There was a large yarding, the quality m most cases being very good. Competition was keen and prices were a shade below those ruling last week. Best wethers made 19s to 21s, medium 16s to 17s, inferior 18s to 14s 6d, best ewes 13s to 14s, extra 15s. Cattle.—2o9 were yarded. There'was a good entry of fair quality and prices were much the same as last week. Best . bullocks made £9 to £10 ss, extra £11 7s 6d, medium £7 15s to £8 10s, inferior £6 5s to £7, best cows and heifers £6 10s to £7 10s, ■-medium £5 10s to £6 ss, and inferior £4 5s to £4 15s. Pigs.—2oo were yarded. There was a i vei'y large yarding, more than half of the entry consisting of stores and slips. The sale was not so brisk as of late and prices showed a general . decline of about Is to 2s per head. About Jd less per lb was paid for porkers and baconers. Suckers made 13s to 15s, slips 17s to 21s 6d ; stores 23s to 31s, porkers 38s to 425, light baconers. 45s to 50s and heavy 50s to 60s. ' . " '■ Lambs. —Thirty-five new spring lambs were on the market and sold at from;, 12s to 275, according to size and quality.
