TECHNICAL POINTS.

NEW YORK, September 29. Commander Peary raises numerous technical points m controverting Dr Cook's claim. He declares that Dr Cook violated custom by not bringing back the records found m the cairns, and contends that it would be impossible for Dr Cook to have travelled 25£ degrees m one sledging season. The best previous record was eleven degrees and Peary's fourteen m 1909. He concludes by criticising Dr Cook's equipment adversely and declares that he (Commander Peary) and Henson talked with every member of the Smith Sound tribe of Esquimaux and obtained testimony corroborating the statement of the two accompanying Dr Cook that the latter had not been out of sight of land.
