UNEMPLOYED AND GOVERNMENT WORK.
Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, June 19. Cabinet met to-day to consider the unemployed question. Subsequently it was announced that the Labour Department -would on Monday send from twenty to forty men bushfelling at llangitatau and to various railway works. As far as possible each district will provide work for its own unemployed.
The following resolution was carried at a meeting of the Christchurch unemployed on Saturday: "That private enterprise having failed to deal with the number of immigrant workers who have been deluded into coming to New Zealand, and having also failed to find work for the born New Zealander, this meeting calls upon the Government of New Zealand to find Avork immediately for the unemployed m New Zealand m their respective trades."
